Weapon-based martial art Kobudō

Many of our members also train in the weapon-based martial art Kobudō at our partner club Matayoshi Kobudō København.

Kobudō is a traditional Japanese martial art that focuses on the use of classical weapons such as the bo (long staff), sai (trident), tonfa (baton with a side handle), and nunchaku. The style is closely connected to karate and was often practiced alongside it to provide the practitioner with both unarmed and armed skills. Kobudō emphasizes precision, body control, and respect for the weapons as extensions of the body. Today, kobudō is practiced both as an independent discipline and as a supplement to other martial systems.
